Glaciation pics..... as promised.

Here, as promised, are just a few images of the many features of glaciation which I spotted in the Alps last week.

The telecabine which links the valleys of Meribel and Val Thorens gives a nice view of adjacent corries..

Looking from the telecabine back down into the valley, you get a good close-up view of the arete which separates the corries..

Over in Val Thorens there is a chairlift and piste which are aptly named La Moraine on account of the fact that they follow the line of two lateral moraines. The glacier which had once extended down the valley between the moraines was just still visible higher up the valley.
Finally (for today!) ... those of you who were on the Iceland fieldtrip in the summer might like to have a look at the Iceland blog where I have posted some images of Iceland in winter sent recently to me by Ian Hardie, our guide.
