Migration winners and losers

The BBC website is carrying an excellent article today (click image of ex pats in Spain to link) which explores the consequences of migration for both the losing and receiving countries. This is exactly the kind of twist which Higher questions on migration often contain.

It explores a number of issues such as the problem of overqualification of immigrants, the 'brain drain' of well educated people from LEDCs to MEDCs and the increase in ex pat numbers.

There are some very good statistics, some of which are converted into easily understood bar charts.

The side bar on the web page also contains a lot of good links, amongst which there is this very good fact file on global migration.
